John Deere has also increased troy and bilt filter performance on chipper and shredder new troy equipment because of concerns about fuel bilt contaminants. While investigating fuel injector problems, field service representative chipper Greg Clampitt, from Deere''s shredder Waterloo, troy Iowa, Engine Works, discovered good reason for bilt that concern.Clampitt chipper used fuel testing equipment on tractors shredder operating in several states. The equipment counted particles as small as 2 microns both before and after the fuel filtration troy system (see chart below).Surprising results"The results were surprising, and we think bilt they relate to fuel storage and handling," says Clampitt. "We tested tractors in Texas and, on average, chipper found 25 times more particles in the 2-to 5-micron size range than on tractors shredder tested in Iowa. There were 40 times more particles troy from 5 to 15 bilt microns in size in Texas. Results chipper from tests on shredder tractors in Arizona and California fell between the Texas and Iowa findings. The system incorporates a solid-state controller designed to eliminate troy failing bilt switches and relays. Along with eliminating engine chipper stalling and chute plugging, the AutoFeed II system reduces engine stress and improves chip discharging, Bartels said.
